This course provides an introduction to systems and development concepts, information technology and application software. It identifies the basic types of business information technology systems. It defines the competitive advantages, types of roles, functions, and careers available in IT industry. This course provides an introduction to application software as well. It explains how information is used in organizations and how IT enables improvement in quality, and competitive advantage. Finally this course is an introduction to the basic components of IT systems, including networking, web systems, databases, scripting, system administration, maintenance and system integration.
